We are very happy to announce we recently added two awesome young girls to our team!! Welcome Izzy McPherson and Hailey Peet!
Here’s what the girls have to say about skateboarding…
Izzy McPherson
“I started skateboarding when I was 8 years old. I really can’t remember what I used to do before I was skateboarding because now I try and skate every day. One day, a sports group came to our school and showed us how to skate and I loved it straight away.
Through Seabreeze Skating, I have met a group of girls who I skate with every week…sometimes a few times a week. I love that most towns have a skatepark and each one is just that little bit different. It makes me want to learn new tricks and maybe show the boys a thing or two about skateboarding
I can’t imagine not skateboarding. I love that I am seeing more girls skateboarding every week. I don’t get nervous in skate competitions – I am just happy to keep learning new tricks and making new friends.”
Hailey Peet
“I started skating when I was 7yrs old, and I’ve been skating now for 4 years. As soon as I started, it’s all I wanted to do!
I am so stoked to be a part of the Concrete Lines team!
I’ve been skating with Ben at Seabreeze Skating for over 3 years now and get to skate with an awesome crew of girls. We have heaps of fun and push each other as well.
I love going in comps. I’ve had some 2nd and 3rd placings and am really trying hard to get a 1st place result. The best thing about comps is that you get to skate and hang out with a bunch of other skater girls, make new friends, learn new tricks and get inspired to do your best.
Skateboarding for me is all about having fun, challenging myself to progress, making friends and getting that awesome feeling you get from doing something new for the first time!
Mum and Dad ask me, what do I want out of skateboarding? My answer is simple – To be the best skater I can be and to have fun!”
Both girls have been learning new skills from Ben at Seabreeze Skating (@seabreezeskating) in Pottsville who’s been a great promoter of girls in skateboarding.
We are stoked to have the girls on board and can’t wait to see how they progress over the coming years! Cheer for them next time you see Hailey and Izzy in a comp!
